Buzludzha – Yes! But not only! Pleven Panorama it is not famous as the Buzludzha monument, but this place is a host for the only one of this kind in Europe – Pleven Epopee 1877. The impressive panoramic painting is 115×15-meter main canvas and 12-meter foreground. This unique work of art made the city internationally famous. Visit the Pantheon Mother Bulgaria in the village Gurulyat and Memorial Complex “Defenders of Stara Zagora”.

Day 1 : Sofia – Gurgulyat – Sofia – 100 km. / 62 ml.

Morning tour of the main sights of Sofia. Afternoon visit of the Museum of the Socialist Art which covers the history of the communist era and the Pantheon Mother Bulgaria in the village Gurulyat . In the evening or for lunch we can offer a unique experience in a local restaurant where you can see collected items from the socialist time. You will be impressed by dry humour, service and not to mention the food.

Day 2 : Sofia – Memorial Complex “Defenders of Stara Zagora” – Shipka Pass – Russian Church – Buzludzh monument – 240 km / 150ml

Morning drive (app. 4h) to Memorial Complex “Defenders of Stara Zagora”, Shipka monument and the Russian Church. Visit of the Buzludzha Monumentand hear all about the Communist regime. The cost just to build this place was nearly 15 000 000 BGN. To make the construction stable they had to reduce the mountain peak with nearly 10 m/30 feet. We will make a stop for lunch. Check in at the hotel, which is located just underneath the Buzludzha Monument in the middle of a beautiful forest. The owners are a local couple that fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and decided to invest in the country. This is renovated building and although the façade is from the socialist time, the place is absolute gem.

Day 3 : Buzludzha – Pleven Panorama – Sofia – 300 km. /186 ml

Breakfast and heading towards Pleven Panorama. Little known and not so famous as the Buzludzha monument, this place is a host for the only one of this kind in Europe – Pleven Epopee 1877. The impressive panoramic painting is 115×15-meter main canvas and 12-meter foreground.
